Yesterday one of the giants of pop culture passed away. Merv Griffin passed away on August 12, 2007 due to complications from prostate cancer. Griffin is not only known for creating the hit game shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeapordy, but during his lifetime he was an accomplished pianist, singer, riveting talk show host, and to top it all off a casino owner. Only a few other people whose names in television are as recognizable as Merv’s. Mr. Griffin, you will be missed.
