Texas has offered some of the best country music artists in the business. There is a definite reason why this is, it’s freakin’ huge. It offers a plethora of roadhouse bars and dance halls. Any night of the week you can see some aspiring artist trying to get his or her break in this very competitive environment. The dance halls in particular have seen their share of singers and musicians. Country/Folk/Americana singer Pat Green, a Texas native, has performed at pretty much all of them. Therefore, he has written a book about the most memorable ones. It will hit stores on February 13, 2008. “Pat Green’s Dance Halls and Dreamers” is a coffee table piece that will feature photographs of Dance Halls where Pat Green has performed. Gruene Hall, Luckenbach(The one mentioned in the Waylon Jennings song), Floore’s Country Store, and Schroeder Hall are among the most notable. Texas favorites Willie Nelson, Robert Earl Keen, Jack Ingram, and Cross Canadian Ragweed also contributed behind-the-scenes-knowledge of these unexplored but relevant venues.
