#3 Country Music Actor

Johnny Cash proved to the world that he could do pretty much anything that he wanted to. He was bigger than the music that he created. So it was natural for that talent to spill over onto the silver screen. His acting in movies, like, The Pride of Jesse Hallam and The Last Days of Frank and Jesse James are textbook performances. He probably had an acting coah, or maybe, just maybe, he was a natural. But his breakthrough performance(as if he needed one), was as Lamar Potts in the 1983 classic Murder in Coweta County. Granted, he didn’t have to try very hard with the material that he was given. His superb portrayal of the righteous sheriff was a good fit with the equally as good performance from Andy Griffith (who knew that sheriff Andy Taylor could be so ruthless and amoral). I might be wrong, but I think that Cash could have been a great actor, he was just that talented.
