Spreading The Wealth

Benevolence has always played a substantial role in the history of country music. If there was never a Faron Young, there might have never been a Willie Nelson. Country Legends Charley Pride and Bill Anderson also owe a great deal of gratitude towards Faron.  Waylon Jennings fattened the pockets of Billy Joe Shaver when he decided to record Honky Tonk Heroes. Success knocked on the door of the Statler Brothers in the form of The Man in Black. And What if Cash and Larry Gatlin’s paths never crossed one Sunday morning at Church? Cash may have never decided to record “Help Me”, the song that Larry performed that morning. Traditions come and go, but as long as there is talent, established artists should always be willing to help the aspiring ones. Is this tradition still popular today. Do you think Tim Mcgraw would be willing to pay for a struggling artist’s medical condition. Faron did. Has Brad Paisley offered to open his doors to a country legend who was down on his luck, the way George Jones cared for Johnny Paycheck.  Tell me, does this still happen?
