Bobby Lord Passes Away

Bobby Lord, an unsung hero of the ‘Opry’, passed away at 74 on February 16, 2008. His musical career spanned over 50 years. He was first given his own show, The Bobby Lord Homefolks Show, while he still in his teens. He was one of the youngest members of the ‘Grand Ole Opry. Bobby was responsible for such hits as, “Without Love” and “Wake Me Up Early In The Morning.” Lord was also a successful businessman during the 1970s. He was a dynamite bass fisherman, and authored Hit the Glory Road. It was about how country music got it’s start from gospel music. Lord was a treasure to the country music industry and will be sorely missed.
