Jerry Wallace Dead at 79

Country music lost yet another great artist with the passing of Jerry Wallace, 79, on May 5. Wallace’s hits include “Primrose Lane” (1959) and “If You Leave Me Tonight I’ll Cry” (1972). Wallace, who was nicknamed “Mr. Smooth” because of his singing style, retired in the late ’70s. He had put out over 45 chart successes in his career.

    Rest In Peace Jerry ! We will always have your beautiful songs forever ! What a Great Voice, What a Great Entertainer ! All of your songs were Great! And I did have quite a few personnal favorites. ” Shutters & Boards”, ” There She Goes ” , ” The Bottle, the Glass, and Me ” , ” Ruby Red Wine ” , ” Jealousy ” , ” Mr Lonely ” and Many More ! I loved them all ! You will be surely missed ! Nobody Writes or sings songs like you did anymore ! And that is what is the Saddest fact of all ! God Bless and keep you Mr. Wallace !
