Broken Love Story…

Not every Love Story has a happy ending.  Normally in country music you have a song that’s about your love, your drinking, your dog, or your gun.  But sometimes what was a Love Story can turn into an Ackey-Breaky Heart that might blow up and kill his man.  So what are the top ten broken heart stories in country music today?

Number ten goes to Toby Keithand his song “How Do You Like Me Now?”  This song talks about love that was lost and Toby says what do you think of me now that I’m famous?  I bet who ever that song was for has been kicking their rear for that mistake.  Number nine goes to Aaron Tippin and “Kiss This (Goodbye)”.  The story line of this song goes something like this, guy meets girl, then they have a fight.  The girl goes to the bar to drink away her sorrows and the guy comes in trying to apologize.  But then the girl turns and says “Kiss This”.  Song number eight goes to Garth Brooks with his big hit “Friends in Low Places”.  This song talks of a guy who comes to his ex-girlfriend’s wedding, everyone thinks that he will cause an uproar…but he’s just there for the free food and good time.  Lucky number seven goes to Patty Loveless and her song “You Don’t Even Know Who I Am”.  This song talks of a couple breaking up because doesn’t really know who she is.  Song six goes to Keith Urban and his song “You’ll Think of Me.”  I love this song!  There’s a man and a woman and the woman dumps the man.  He is dealing with being alone and comes to the realization that he doesn’t need her anyway.

Number five goes to Miranda Lambert and “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”.  The ex-girlfriend in this song doesn’t take to the break up very well and would really like to kill her ex.  Number four goes to Carrie Underwood and “Before He Cheats”.  This ex-girlfriend doesn’t take to the break well either and takes a baseball bat to his truck.  Oops, she’s just wanting to warn all of his future ex-girlfriends that he’s a player.  Number three goes to Travis Tritt and “Here’s a Quarter, Call Someone Who Cares.”  This is a song is about a break up and the girl decides she wants him back, but he says I don’t think so…but Here’s a Quarter, Call Someone Who Cares.  Lorrie Morgan takes home number two with “What Part of No Don’t You Understand?”  This song talks about a woman at a bar who is continually getting hit on, but she’s not into one night stands, and what part of no doesn’t he understand…

There’s only one spot left and who does it go to?  Of course Hank Williams takes it home with that timeless classic “You’re Cheatin’ Heart.”  Hank says in the song that she will be sorry because her cheatin’ heart will tell on her.

So there you have it the top ten songs for broken hearts.
