Country Weekly Limiting Subscriptions

Is Country Music’s most popular magazine being hurt by the declining economy? The buzz around town, is that Country Weekly will cut all  subscriptions and will only be sold exclusively at the newsstand. This is an 80% decrease in circulation. Adage.com is estimating sales of 75,000 copies per issue at the newsstand.  They are also decreasing the content and lowering the newsstand price a dollar to $2.49, and staying true to its name and releasing, weekly.

However, Country Weekly needs to change its name and cut back its frequency. It is the most redundant magazine in the industry.  Sometimes it seems like they just reword their cover stories. We are wise to your game. For example, “How Alan and Denise Jackson Are Making Their Marriage Work?” or “Denise Jackson Tells All About Her Lasting Marriage.” Could you be any more unoriginal?  And seriously, If I see Kenny Chesney’s mug on the cover one more time I am going to get rid of my peck implants!
