Redneckin’ Record Making Day

I guess if you can’t beat them, start your own record label. This is exactly what Gretchen Wilson has done. She officially launched Redneck Records. Yeah, big surprise, huh? The company is setting up shop at Studio 27 in Lebanon, TN with Wilson at the helm as it’s president. She has already got distribution through Red, and is planning on releasing an album next year. The first single, “Work Hard, Play Harder,” which was penned by Wilson, John Rich, and Vicky Mcgehee will make it’s radio debut on Oct. 26. Will Gretchen be able to dust off the Musik Mafia persona, and become country’s bad girl again? Frankly, I thought she was already done. I was picturing Ms. Wilson back at her trailer in Pocahontas, IL, blowing all of her royalty money on scratch-offs. Oh, I am just kidding. Gretchen we love you, even if you are a consummate name dropper.
