Mel Mcdaniel’s recent heart attack is being buried by the media’s coverage of Michael Jackson’s death and memorial service. For those who are out of the loop, the raspy voiced Oklahoman was recently hospitalized for a massive heart attack. His prognosis is not promising. His wife Peggy stated to Country Weekly that his condition is “not good, and that we request the prayers from all of Mel’s fans.” Mr. Mcdaniel has always been a fan of mine, ever since “Lousianna Saturday Night.” When smoother vocals were coming out of Nashville, his raw edgy performances were a breath of fresh air. Let’s hope that Mel can somehow pull through.
