Patriotic Song Mix

It seems probable that most Americans will be celebrating Memorial Day indoors. Storms are blanketing the eastern half of the United States. Its a good thing that Memorial Day doesn’t wait for the atmosphere. Whether rain or shine, this holiday is a state of mine and doesn’t rely on the weather to be a success. This is the perfect time to create a killer patriotic country mix. There is only one rule that you need to follow when comprising a mix, DON’T BE SELFISH! This will turn off any listener. That being said, the mix should still be artistic and exemplify your taste. If you do put together a great mix, and it doesn’t seem to impress anyone, then you should think about getting different friends because apparently they have no taste(in the words of John Cusack, “Call me shallow, but these things matter.”) Personally, I would set the mix to a time line.  Not to the release date mind you, but subject matter. However, there is no strict pattern as you can see below.

  1. Johnny Horton: “Battle of New Orleans”
  2. Tex Ritter: “Deck Of Cards”
  3. Gene Autry: “Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition”
  4. Johnny Cash: “Ballad of Ira Hayes”
  5. Johnny Cash: “Ragged Old Flag”
  6. SSGT Barry Sadler: “Ballad of the Green Berets”
  7. Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn: “God Bless America Again”
  8. Merle Haggard: “All American Cowboy”
  9. Waylon Jennings: “America”
  10. Elvis Presley: “American Trilogy”
