So here at PureCountryMusic we were trying to name off the country singers who are natural basses. See if you can add to the list:

1. Johnny Cash

2. Josh Turner

3. Randy Travis

4. Trace Adkins

5. George Jones(has a great range, but his talking voice is way down there, but this is probably stems from his life style)

6. Waylon Jennings(you might also chalk it up to his life style, but he was low during this debut)

7. Jim Reeves(the smoothest baritone voice ever, but you know he could go lower)

8. Jimmy Dean

9. Ed Bruce(talks like a bear)

10. Don Williams(lower than Josh Turner)

11. Kris Kristofferson

Hank Williams Jr. can hit some low notes.
    Honorable mention: Roger Miller

Richard Sterban of The Oak Ridge Boys. Yes, you know him from the “oomp-pah-pah-mow-mow” on “Elvira,” but also hear him sing a very good lead on the Oaks’ 1979 single “Dream On.”

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think it was Harold Reid who had the bass voice for the Statler Brothers.

I believe Tennessee Ernie Ford should be somewhere at the top of this list.

I don’t know why my original posting was deleted. I merely said that I thought Tennessee Ernie Ford should be near the top of this list. What’s the problem with that?
