If you asked today’s country music fan, “Who is Bob Wills” , would they have the slightest clue? Or for that matter, have they even heard of western swing? Their knowledge probably doesn’t go any further than George Strait’s cover of “Right or Wrong.” Texas swing might be on life support, but there are always going to be those certain artists that will breathe new life into the genre. If you are a frequent viewer of PBS, or if you spend your Monday nights at Station Inn, then you probably have been mesmerized by The Time Jumpers. And if you haven’t, it is inevitable. This impeccable western swing band is impressing everyone from rural Texas to New York City. Seriously, they received an excellent review from The New York Times. Richard Sher has recognized their appeal and has invited them as musical guest for his NPR game show “Says You.” The tapings of the show will take place this weekend at the TPAC, and tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
