Faron Young Biography
I was watching a clip from the Grand Ole Opry that was filmed back in the 1950’s the other day and I was just amazed how much of a great singer and entertainer Faron Young really was. He not only connected with his audience, but vocally he was flawless. His life however, was not as polished. He could be your best friend or your worst enemy. Both sides are described in full detail in the new biography Live Fast Love Hard. The author Diane Diekman does not sugarcoat anything about Faron’s Life. She does not make Faron out to be a hero, but she shows how he was a real person with real problems. He is portrayed as someone that told whatever was on his mind and how he felt about it. She talks about his dark days as a severe alcoholic and how it led to inner-turmoil with his family. But Faron also had a benevolent side to him as well. He would help out old and new artistswho were struggling. How do you think Willie Nelson got his start? Diekman shows how willing Faron was to just help out a friend or struggling artist by just slipping them a $100 bill.
Faron just emulated the lifestyle of his music a little too closely. Does anybody have any speculations to why he committed suicide? Was it because Nashville turned it’s back on him? Was it because of depression? Or, was it because that he did not die young?
Where can I get Faron Young’s life story?
